The show must go on and this show has been going on for 15 years. They’ve learnt to keep their professional and personal lives separate, bottling up grievances for the sake of the Duo. Music is what matters, but what happens when the music begins to express the strain?

This programme explores the relationship between music and the people performing the music, a relationship that is often ignored or kept in the background. Aside brings this hidden aspect of music making to light, illustrating how personal differences, conflicts, hopes and disappointments, love and hate can sound.

The Duo – partner problems begins as a normal concert evening, the programme tailor-made to fit each venue and the expectations of the audience. With each piece, however, the characters of the performers and their relationship to one another gradually come to the foreground, colouring the music and setting in motion the theatrical development of the evening.
